The 2019 trade deadline has passed and, with it, dozens of prospects
have begun a new journey toward the major leagues with a different
organization. We have all of the prospects who have been traded since
the Nick Solak/Peter Fairbanks
deal ranked below, with brief scouting snippets for each of them. Most
of the deals these prospects were a part of were analyzed at length on
this site. Those pieces can be found here, or by clicking the hyperlink in the “From” column below. We’ve moved all of the players below to their new orgs over on THE BOARD, so you can see where they rank among their new teammates; our farm rankings, which now update live,
also reflect these changes, so you can see where teams’ systems stack
up post-deadline. Thanks to the scouts, analysts, and executives who
helped us compile notes on players we didn’t know about.

Corner outfield prospect with plus-plus bat speed and a track record of performance. Plate discipline is below average, creating risk he falls short of offensive potential.

Four-pitch, mid-rotation surgeon who has looked good against big league hitting this year.

Freak athlete with high-end makeup and above-average stuff. Currently on the shelf due to a Tommy John.

Four-pitch lefty with an out-pitch changeup. Helps Cleveland’s rotation right now.

Max-effort player with a plus bat, but no defensive position.

Advanced (physically and technically) teenage righty with a chance for three above-average pitches and control.

Lefty with fringe velo and a great changeup. His fastball plays up due to vertical movement.

Well-rounded first baseman having a bounce-back year after dealing with physical malady in 2018.

A lefty into the mid-90s with fringe command, but plus secondary stuff.

Could be a contact-oriented utility man or a low-end regular at shortstop.
45 | 14 | Seth Beer | DH | 22.9 | ARI | HOU (Greinke) |
1B/DH-only bat who has hit at every level. Has power/strength and better feel to hit than most below-average athletes.
45 | 15 | Jameson Hannah | CF | 22.0 | CIN | OAK (Roark) |
A bit of a tweener, but has a shot to be a 60 or better hitter and play every day.
40+ | 16 | Joe McCarthy | LF | 25.4 | SFG | TBR (Lopez) |
Lefty corner bat with a great idea of the strike zone. Could be Nick Johnson-ish type of player, injuries and all.
40 | 17 | Peter Fairbanks | RHP | 25.6 | TBR | TEX (Solak) |
Ultra-nasty reliever who will flash two plus-plus pitches, but he’s also 25 and has had two TJs.
40 | 18 | Kolby Allard | LHP | 22.0 | TEX | ATL (Martin) |
Soft-tossing lefty with a good changeup and intelligent breaking ball usage. Needs to develop plus command to be more than just a fifth starter.
40 | 19 | Christian Arroyo | RHP | 24.2 | CLE | TBR (40-man space) |
Was once a 50 FV but injuries and poor big league performance when he’s had the opportunity have wreaked havoc on his stock.
40 | 20 | Ian Gibaut | RHP | 25.7 | TEX | TBR (PTBNL) |
A casualty of the Rays’ deep roster likely fits in a long-term middle relief role with Texas.
40 | 21 | Thomas Hatch | RHP | 24.9 | TOR | CHC (Phelps) |
Fastball/slider relief prospect who started throwing a cutter just a few starts before he was traded, which may give him a better chance to start.
40 | 22 | Tristan Beck | RHP | 23.1 | SFG | ATL (Melancon) |
Another arm with fringe command of slightly above-average stuff that might play up in a relief role.
40 | 23 | Prelander Berroa | RHP | 19.3 | SFG | MIN (Dyson) |
Exciting, young, high-octane arm whose body and delivery are reminiscent of Fernando Rodney’s.
40 | 24 | Kai-Wei Teng | RHP | 20.7 | SFG | MIN (Dyson) |
Taiwanese righty with a thick lower half, low-to-mid-90s fastball, average curveball, and enough changeup feel at 20 that it might be a bat-misser one day.
40 | 25 | Ray Black | RHP | 29.1 | MIL | SFG (Dubon) |
Oft-injured reliever with some of the nastiest stuff-related measurables on Earth.
40 | 26 | Alex Lange | RHP | 23.8 | DET | CHC (Castellanos) |
Lange’s velo is up a little bit but he’s still got 40 control and profiles as a reliever who mixes his pitches evenly.

Tough-nosed young hitter who doesn’t have a clear position.
35+ | 28 | Elvis Alvarado | RHP | 20.4 | SEA | WSN (Elias) |
Converted outfielder throwing in the mid-90s.

Vertical movement sleeper.
35+ | 31 | Kevin Merrell | 2B | 23.6 | KCR | OAK (Bailey) |

Deceptive lefty with a sinker and slider.
35+ | 33 | Ismael Aquino | RHP | 20.9 | KCR | OAK (Diekman) |
Up to 97 with very little feel. Will flash a good change.
35+ | 34 | Taylor Guilbeau | LHP | 26.2 | SEA | WSN (Elias) |
Lefties who throw 96 don’t grow on trees, but Guilibeau’s just doesn’t seem to play like a mid-90s heater.
35 | 35 | Dairon Blanco | CF | 26.3 | KCR | OAK (Diekman) |
80 runner with above-average power, but very little bat control. Maybe a bench outfielder.
35 | 36 | Jaylin Davis | OF | 25.1 | SFG | MIN (Dyson) |
Old-for-the-level corner outfielder who is having a strong statistical season. It makes sense for SF to keep trying fringe 40-man types in the hope that one sticks or becomes tradable later.
35 | 37 | Kyle Johnston | RHP | 23.0 | TOR | WSN (Hudson) |
Sits 90-94, touches 97, above-average slider. Currently starting.
35 | 38 | Josh Rojas | INF | 25.1 | ARI | HOU (Greinke) |
Rojas was a late senior sign who hit all the way up through Triple-A and became desirable. He’s skilled but not toolsy at all. He may be a contact-oriented bench player who can play all over.
35 | 39 | Niko Hulsizer | OF | 22.5 | TBR | LAD(Kolarek) |
A physical, tightly-wound outfielder with big power and a swing geared for lift. He runs well under way.

Strike-throwing depth starter, which everyone seems to need.
35 | 41 | Joe Harvey | RHP | 27.6 | COL | NYY (A. Garcia) |
Fringe middle reliever who got squeezed out of a talented Yankees roster picture.
35 | 42 | Alfredo Garcia | LHP | 20.0 | NYY | COL (Harvey) |
A lefty with average stuff that plays up due to big extension.
35 | 43 | Travis Demeritte | 2B | 24.8 | DET | ATL (S. Greene) |
The once-touted second baseman with power is having a bounce back season after being bad for a while.
35 | 44 | Andre Scrubb | RHP | 24.6 | HOU | LAD (T. White) |
Vertical movement relief flier.
35 | 45 | Scott Moss | LHP | 24.8 | CLE | CIN (Bauer, etc) |
Lefty vertical movement relief flier.

Slow-twitch corner outfield prospect with feel for contact and hand/wrist strength.
35 | 48 | Jeffry Abreu | RHP | 19.6 | STL | LAD (Gyorko) |
Teenage relief prospect who sits 89-92 and flashes an above-average slider. Lacks physical projection for a teen.
35 | 49 | Jacob Lopez | LHP | 21.4 | TBR | SFG (McCarthy) |
89-92 with a lower arm slot and slurvy breaking ball.
35 | 50 | Jose Caballero | OF | 22.9 | SEA | ARI (Leake) |
A contact and speed-centric infielder whose bat likely keeps him on the fringe of the 40-man at peak.
35 | 51 | Raider Uceta | RF | 18.5 | HOU | LAA (Stassi) |
Big, strong, left guard build on an 18-year-old. Has pop, but perhaps no position.
35 | 52 | Joe Jarneski | RHP | 19.8 | CHW | TEX (Jones, Int’l $) |
Velo is in the 86-90 range as he returns from TJ.
